The story
Maggie King
Maggie King is the founder of MKUP The Beauty Studio. A York-based traveling beauty team of more than 20 highly-trained Makeup and hair artists that has been transforming the wedding beauty industry for more than 8 years.
After years in the fashion and bridal industry, Maggie launched Maggie King Makeup Artistry and what started out as a solo endeavor, quickly evolved into MKUP after a client-demand for an expansion of services. Maggie’s goal was never to be a one-woman show but rather to educate and empower a team with whom she could expand.
In addition to creating a home base for wedding trials, Maggie transformed MKUP’s downtown York location into a hub for beauty services such as lash extensions, tints, and lifts as well as their well-respected brow services. Following the success of the York location, Maggie expanded in-house services by launching a second MKUP location in downtown Lancaster in 2020.
Outgrowing her downtown York location, and having a burning desire to unite her staff under one roof, a large property opportunity presented itself to Maggie leading to the decided closure of MKUP’s Lancaster location and the birth of Blend Beauty + Spa with Priscilla Fleet.
Priscilla Fleet
From lashes to facials to peels and more, Priscilla Fleet knows her way around cosmetology after more than 15 years in the business.
Priscilla’s journey began in 2007 as an esthetician with her education expanding in 2009 after a return to school to receive her cosmetology license and further her knowledge of the salon industry. Fast forward to 2019, where Priscilla’s love of lashes, skin, and esthetics bloomed into the creation of her own company, Bliss Esthetics.
Having formed a bond through serving now-business partner, Maggie King, as a lash client for more than four years, this bond quickly grew into the friendship that would lead to the formation of Blend. Priscilla knew the beauty world is a competitive place, but when you find someone who helps, supports, and respects you, you don’t let them go.
It was the perfect opportunity, not for one, but for both Maggie and Priscilla to further their careers and elevate their staff to create a beauty destination for all.
